A Roman Catholic priest, first in the Diocese of Vác and later in the Archdiocese of Esztergom–Budapest; he served the Hungarian Catholic community in Canada for twelve years.

He was ordained a priest on June 21, 1959, in Vác. His first assignment was in Kiskunfélegyháza, where he served as an assistant pastor; then, from 1959 to 1961, he served as a catechist in Újszász. He subsequently served as a catechist and assistant pastor in Sári and then in Csongrád. From 1962 to 1963 in Dunaharaszti, from 1963 to 1964 in Verőce, from 1964 to 1965 in Kartal, from 1965 to 1967 in Alsónémedi and Ócsa, and from 1967 to 1968 in Mindszent.

In 1969, he was transferred to the main parish in Újpest, Budapest, and then served as a chaplain in Soroksár from 1969 to 1972. In 1972, he served briefly in Rákosliget and Rákoskeresztúr, and later that same year, he was transferred to Hatvan. The parish’s own historical records in Hatvan also confirm that he served there as an assistant pastor from 1972 to 1974. From 1974 to 1975, he served in Újpest-Kertváros; from 1975 to 1977, in Kispest; and from 1977 to 1980, in Pestszenterzsébet-Pacsirtatelep.

In 1980, he moved to Canada, where he carried out pastoral work until 1992. The official priest registry of the Archdiocese of Esztergom–Budapest links this entire period to Hamilton, Ontario. However, according to the Yearbook of the Sunday of Hungarian Catholics, he also served in Calgary, Alberta, from 1981 to 1985. The two sets of data are not necessarily contradictory: the archdiocesan registry may have listed his Canadian ministry under “Hamilton” for the sake of brevity, while a contemporary Canadian-Hungarian source recorded an actual period of service in Calgary.

His stay in Canada lasted a total of twelve years. Based on the available data, he served as an assistant pastor in Hamilton, while his pastoral activities were also connected to the Hungarian Catholic communities in Canada. The exact parish and position he held during his service in Calgary require further research.

In 1992, he returned to Hungary and served as an assistant pastor at the Budapest-Pestszentlőrinc main parish until 1995. Following the reorganization of diocesan boundaries, he was incardinated into the Archdiocese of Esztergom–Budapest in 1993. In 1995, he became the pastor of Csobánka and led the parish for nine years, until 2004.

In 2004, he ended his active pastoral ministry due to health reasons. He first took sick leave and then retired. He spent the last seventeen years of his life as a retired priest. He passed away on April 10, 2021, at the age of 86.
