Biographical data

Gyula Stefurovszky, a Roman Catholic priest, served in the Hungarian Catholic communities of Pennsylvania. He was ordained a priest at St. Vincent’s Church in Latrobe. He celebrated his first Mass on June 18, 1944, at St. Peter’s Church in Pittsburgh. Beginning on August 24, 1944, he served as an assistant pastor at St. Anne’s Hungarian Roman Catholic Parish in Pittsburgh. Following the death of Nándor Szabó, Bishop Hugh C. Boyle of Pittsburgh appointed him pastor of the Hungarian Roman Catholic parishes in Connellsville, Brownsville, and Daisytown.
