Biographical data
His father was Antal Holosnyai, a priest, and his mother was Emília Azary. He was a married pastor; his wife was Erzsébet Popovich, who passed away in 1933. They had two daughters. He pursued his theological studies in Uzhhorod. He was ordained a priest on October 13, 1892, by Bishop Gyula Firczák of Munkács. He served as a member of the Holy See Council from 1913. He was dean of the Homestead deanery from 1925 to 1929. He completed several courses in fruit growing.
