He was ordained a priest on August 10, 1958, in his native village. He emigrated to the United States in 1984 and returned to Europe in 1986. He was a religion teacher at the Hungarian school in Burg Kastl. His school “nickname” was Tiszi or Kisiván. At his own request and with the permission of his diocesan bishop, he was released from the Archdiocese and transferred to the Diocese of Regensburg in 1988.
