Biographical data
He was ordained a priest on October 27, 1895. He was a married pastor; his wife was Irén, and they had one daughter. He was likely widowed at an early age. He served as a member of the Sacred Congregation, became a canon in 1916, and was a papal prelate. In 1906, his name was put forward as a candidate to become the first bishop of the American Hungarian Greek Catholic Diocese. In 1910, he received the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Franz Joseph. He was a member of the Eperjes City Council. At the end of July 1931, Miklós Kendrovszky, a mentally ill, suspended Greek Catholic priest, stabbed him in the heart with a chisel, and he died after a brief struggle.
