Biographical data
He was ordained a priest in Győr on November 4, 1844. His father, Farkas Beke, was a professor of political science and a lawyer. Due to his active participation in the 1848–49 revolution, he was forced to emigrate, although, as a member of the Komárom chapter, he was granted amnesty. He arrived in the United States on February 2, 1850. In 1861, he was elected representative of Győr County—in his absence. He died in a railway accident, struck and killed by a steam locomotive. According to the Vasárnapi újság, he died at the age of 58.
