Biographical data
His parents were Bazil Lipeczky, a cantor, and Amália Varga. He graduated from the Catholic High School in Uzhhorod. His wife was Etel Munkácsy, and they had one child, Klára. He completed his theological studies in Uzhhorod. On December 24, 1905, he was ordained a priest by Bishop Gyula Firczák of Munkács. In 1912, he emigrated to the United States. In 1924, he was incardinated into the Apostolic Exarchate of Pittsburgh.
There are discrepancies among sources regarding the date of his death. Find a Grave lists 1942, while the historical page of Saint Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church in Pittston states that Rev. Basil Lipeczky served as the parish priest from 1932 to 1945, not until 1942. Another summary of church history lists the same period as 1932–1946.

In the 1906 Munkács register, Oroszhrabócz is listed as the place of service, but the name of the settlement has been Nagygereblyés since 1899.
