He was ordained a priest on June 19, 1957. He left the country in June 1967. He had wanted to go to the Congo as a missionary, but the political situation made this impossible, so he went to Brazil instead. He is an enthusiastic supporter of the charismatic movement. In 1995, they succeeded in establishing a radio station that covers the entire county. He founded the Fraternidade Nossa Senhora da Evangelização, or Our Lady of Evangelization Fraternity, whose rules were recognized by the local archbishop at the diocesan level.
