Biographical data
In 1907, he studied at the Augustinum in Vienna. He was ordained a priest on January 15, 1909. From 1909 to 1910, he served as vice-rector and then rector of the Austro-Hungarian pilgrimage house in Jerusalem. In 1915, he conducted research in Constantinople and earned a doctorate in theology. In 1922, he emigrated to the United States. He is an honorary doctor of Pázmány Péter University and a specialist in Eastern languages.
