Biographical data
He entered the order on August 14, 1948. He began his novitiate in Manréza, from where the State Security Service took him to a place of forced residence. From 1950 to 1952, he studied philosophy at the seminary in Szeged; from 1952 to 1954, he was a student majoring in mathematics and physics in Debrecen; and from 1955 to 1956, he studied medicine in Budapest. He left the country in 1956. He studied theology in Chipping Norton. He was ordained a priest on July 31, 1959. He took his final vows on August 15, 1965. From 1986 to 1990, he served as provincial superior of the Hungarian Jesuits living abroad; from 1990 to 1996 and again from 2002 to 2005, he served as provincial superior. He spent his final years at the retirement home on Krisztina Boulevard in Budapest.
