Biographical data
András Neuhaus/Andreas Neuhaus was born around 1683 and died in Venezuela in 1741. According to the literature, he was born in Hungary and may have been of Turkish descent; at the age of two, he and his mother were taken captive by Christian soldiers. He joined the Jesuit Order in 1704 and subsequently served as a missionary in Mexico, Santo Domingo, and Venezuela.
