Biographical data
His father was Father Bazil Pásztélyi. His wife was Olga Szabó; they had four children (Olga in 1884, Mária in 1892, Margit in 1894, and Gyula in 1896). He pursued his theological studies in Ungvár. On October 3, 1886, he was ordained a priest by Bishop János Pásztélyi Kovács of Munkács. He served in the United States from 1905 to 1913. He was an honorary dean beginning in 1919.
